CONVERGENCE
2026
Convergence explores how we chart the geography of memory onto landscape. Created through the long-standing collaboration of the two artists, the work embodies how a place is assembled from collective fragments of sensory input, lived experience, and cultural meaning. Each painted and drawn tile represents a distinct mode of 'making sense.'
The artwork mirrors this cognitive cartography. It suggests our comprehension of the coast is a mosaic—a constructed totality from pieces of beauty, utility, mythology, and data. The lighthouses, once simple tools, are now central coordinates in this mental map, inseparable from the land and the lens through which we navigate the Western Australian coast.
